The Summer Gatsby
This expressive cover neatly captures two of the novel’s essential but conflicting motifs. First, the playful joy of Gatsby’s summer soirées, and second, the faceless mystery of the host himself.
Pros
The ribboned, hand-lettering is beautiful, and the straw boater is a convenient location for a byline.
Cons
While not disqualifying, the colors are a bit anachronistic. (Teal bow ties seem more the province of senior proms than literature’s most glamorous man.)
